The Role

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a diligent environmental professional to join the team in ourTownsvilleoffice. Working as part of our established Geoscience and Remediation Services (GRS) team, you will work with environmental engineers, scientists and hydrologists, consulting on a wide range of projects, including large international oil and gas, mining and public sector clients across north QLD and further afield.

You will work closely with our project teams to undertake work programs designed to provide innovative and progressive project solutions for our clients. You will pride yourself on your ability to provide high quality interpretive and technical reporting, and will be confident around environmental sample collection and interaction with subcontractors.

This role will give you the opportunity to further develop your technical skills and will see you contribute to all stages of contaminated land projects from due diligence to developing conceptual site models as well as analysing remedial alternatives and preparing environmental management plans.

You will split your time between the office and field work, therefore an ability and willingness to work remotely in the field, often in rural Queensland, is required.

About You

  • 2-8 years' industry experience, preferably working within a consulting environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in contaminated land management, environmental site assessments and remediation – highly desirable;
  • Experience leading and undertaking field work – highly desirable;
  • Specific project security clearance will require that you are an Australian citizen
  • Experience in mining and Defence projects – desirable.


  • A relevant University Degree in either geology, hydrogeology, agricultural science, chemistry, environmental management or related engineering;
  • Experience using ESdat, gINT, ArcGIS, GWSDAT;
  • Current C-Class Manual Drivers Licence – Essential;
  • Four wheel drive training and other relevant industry inductions (ISI, White Card, Coal Induction) – Preferred;
  • Defence Security Clearance (or ability to obtain.);and
  • Contaminated land experience is highly desirable.
