Senior Electrical Engineer - Traction and Infrastructure Power

Job Summary

AECOM’s market leading Power and Industrial business in Australia is seeking to expand the team in Melbourne. We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer who has a passion for technical excellence and enjoys the challenge of delivering a diverse portfolio of industrial, traction power and energy projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be actively involved in an innovative, growing and highly motivated team of technical professionals and be instrumental in delivering landmark projects throughout Melbourne, Victoria and across Australia.

The team is currently delivering on a range of projects including concept design, detailed design, technical review and project management roles associated with traction power, industrial process, fuel systems and hazardous area projects.

The primary focus of this role is to undertake Electrical System design and detailed drawings. The role is a multi-faceted role assisting in multiple projects, having direct client interaction with businesses within the Transport, Defence and Industrial sectors while ensuring the interface with other personnel within the business is well managed. The team has shown significant growth in all these sectors and is looking to continue to grow.

You will ideally have a background in the engineering consulting industry working with a strong technical acumen and a desire to grow your career at AECOM.

Minimum Requirements

You will have demonstrable experience including:

  • Demonstrable engineering consulting experience, preferably in the areas of industrial electrical design or traction poiwer

  • Electrical design skills in any of the following – industrial systems, traction power, secondary systems

  • Knowledge of AC and DC traction power systems

  • In depth knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and industry guidelines

  • Demonstrated ability to present and explain various design options and outcomes to clients

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing client reports

  • Ability to achieve and maintain high levels of quality and consistency of personal outputs

  • Exceptional levels of written and oral communication

  • Electricity utility experience would be advantageous

  • Experience in leading and managing a multidiscipline project team of engineers would be an advantage

  • Be an active member of the team and contribute to the team’s success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
