Senior Electrical Designer/Drafter - Power

Our Power team in Melbourne are currently looking for a proven Electrical Designer or Drafter to work across a growing portfolio of work with some of our key clients. This is an exciting time in the Power team due to a consistent and long-term increase in workload, alongside the opportunity to work closely with some of our key mentors and senior leaders!

The Role

This is a Senior Electrical Design or Drafting role, where you will be given the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, while supporting and leading our broader team of junior Electrical Designers and Drafters.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Manage drafting outputs to ensure on time delivery;

  • Drafting verification;

  • Produce single line diagrams, secondary schematics, connection schedules, equipment layouts, cable schedules, wiring and control diagrams;

  • Quotation analysis;

  • Review best practice to ensure efficiency;

  • Mentor/support drafting team.

Minimum Requirements

As a proven Electrical Designer or Drafter, you will be capable of reviewing electrical (control) drawings while being proficient in the use of AutoCAD, alongside this expectation, you will also have evidence of the following attributes;

  • Proven knowledge of local utility network or other control work, in electrical design areas;

  • Demonstrated experience in managing design reviews, maintaining drawing registers and applying client standard design manuals;

  • Evidence of managing complex projects and meeting delivery requirements;

  • Strong oral and written communication skills;

  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills;

  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline driven team environment;

  • Timeliness and accuracy of completing tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma is Electrical Engineering or similar advantageous;

  • Familiarity with Secondary System design in generation, transmission and distribution would be highly regarded.
