Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Controller to work closely with our clients and stakeholders to produce best earned value management and transparent project timelines in a client-facing environment.

The Role

As a Senior Cost Controller at AECOM Construction Services you will be expected to advise and lead stakeholders, including clients, across a construction project timeline and earned value management, in line with Australian standards.

Therefore, you will be driven by strong project management values and hold a wealth of knowledge across cost on all phases of a construction project, with a proven background in maintaining project programs, budgets and forecasts.

A Senior Cost Controller in our Brisbane office will be involved in multiple complex projects and use your passion for cost-effective project management and client engagement to achieve best results on-time and on-budget, with a variety of projects in our portfolio and pipeline.

Minimum Requirements

This opportunity will enable a suitable Senior Cost Controller to step in to a thriving AECOM group and work closely with clients in successful delivery and improved efficiency of their major projects.

This role will require some of the following key attributes and skillsets;

  • Development and maintenance of project programs, budgets and forecasts;
  • Establishment of project systems including, schedule, earned value management, and scope and cost control;
  • Monitoring and reporting on project status, expenditure versus budget, forecast to complete, schedule updates and progress against baselines;
  • Variance analysis for cost, and schedule, including identification of exceptions and corrective actions as appropriate;
  • Earned Value Management in line with Australian Standards, with proven experience working to Australian Standards;
  • Contract administration support to Project Manager, and/or Commercial Manager in the tracking of scope creep and compilation of variations against contracts;
  • AECOM Financial system update including invoicing, project forecasts and reporting.
  • Provide mentoring, leadership, and direction to the project team, and junior staff members.
  • Confident communication skills; verbal, written and reporting writing methods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant field; Civil Engineering, Construction or similar
  • 5-12 years professional experience in the construction or civil infrastructure industry.
