Job Summary

AECOM’s Building + Places team is seeking an experienced and motivatedProfessional/Senior Hydraulics Engineer. Working alongside a team of highly motivated and driven multi-disciplined Engineers, you will play an integral part of managing, designing and delivering a range of hydraulic services on a broad range projects.

Your role will include;

  • Delivering and managing selected projects, planning resources, collaborating with other disciplines, designing hydraulic systems, preparing schematics drawings, calculations and specifications.
  • Site investigations and report writing
  • Communicating with stakeholders, team members and peers
  • Managing commercial items relevant to the projects and Hydraulics discipline

This position will develop both your technical and business skills. You will manage client relationships, both internally and externally, understand key project drivers and determine the best approach hydraulically for our clients.

In addition to local projects and clients, our Hydraulics specialists’ function as a national team. This will enable you to provide hydraulics support for offices across the country, giving you the opportunity to work on a wider range of small, medium and large-scale projects.

Design services will include:

  • Rainwater harvesting
  • Sanitary plumbing and drainage
  • Trade waste
  • Stormwater systems
  • Potable and non-potable water reticulation
  • Hot water and warm water systems
  • ESD principles
  • Gas services
  • Fire hydrant and hose reel design

This role is ideal for a hydraulics engineer professional who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment where delivering high quality and technically accurate work is paramount.

Minimum Requirements

  • Comprehensive technical knowledge
  • Excellent Consulting capability
  • Full understanding of Australian Design Codes
  • Strong demonstration of experience within a Building Services Consultancy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with both internal and external clients
  • Sound report writing skills
  • Experience of working in a multi discipline team and environment
  • Possess a positive and flexible attitude
  • Ability to work autonomously with a proactive attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications relating to plumbing and hydraulics
  • Eligibility to be member of The Institute of Engineers or other recognised Institution would be highly regarded.
  • Member of HCAA
  • Competent in the use of CAD and Revit;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Bluebeam
