Professional Integrated Water Planning Engineer

Job Summary

AECOM is expanding its dynamic and innovative Civil Infrastructure business in Sydney and are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Professional Integrated Water Planner to join our Water team. Our services include integrated strategic and detailed planning for drinking water, wastewater and recycled water projects. In joining our dynamic and market-leading team, you will contribute to the delivery of our growing portfolio of large infrastructure projects across NSW, Australia, and the broader region and provide our range of clients with brilliant and innovative solutions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contributing to project teams in delivering integrated planning, strategic network planning, detailed network planning/hydraulic modelling and network design focused projects.

  • Collaborating with local and global AECOM colleagues as part of project delivery including within design, environment, geotechnical, digital engineering, community consultation, advisory, asset and information management

  • Establishing and maintaining positive rapport with internal and external water and related clients including as major and regional urban utilities, developers, local and state government, etc.

  • Delivery of high-quality and timely technical outputs that meets with client expectations

  • Proactive in project delivery to maintain high performing, engaged and supportive team culture

  • Support to proposals and general business development activities

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent) – essential

  • 3-5 years' relevant professional experience on water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a planning environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Core technical skills associated with water and sewer infrastructure, particularly in the network planning environment and including hydraulic modelling (using various software) i.e. InfoWorks, H2O Map, MIKE Urban or Bentley suite

  • Network planning and design experience that demonstrates the development and evaluation of options to arrive at a preferred solution – water, recycled water and/or sewer

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
