Principal Urban Planner

Job Summary

Are you an experienced strategic/land use planner looking to progress your career and further develop your skills as part of a well-established high performing Adelaide-based team within a global consulting firm?

This role will assist in winning, securing and delivering major transport, infrastructure and urban planning projects. You will manage and play a key technical role in large multi-disciplinary projects and be part of a highly skilled and diverse planning team.

Minimum Requirements

Your ability to work collaboratively, foster relationships and build the reach of the planning team will be essential. You will manage projects and client relationships, as well as juggling priorities and deadlines to deliver projects on time and budget. Business development and client relationship management is a key focus for the role and you will be actively involved in bid development and preparing winning bid strategies.

  • 12+ years’ relevant, professional experience

  • Strong understanding of the South Australian planning system and reform directions

  • Strong business acumen, desirably with experience in the private sector

  • Demonstrated experience leading project bids and project teams

  • Strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a collaborative, results driven team environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the preparation of complex reports and making presentations to stakeholders in a range of forums

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning (or equivalent)

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite
