Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Cost Management team in Sydney as a Senior Mining/Civil Cost Estimator. The primary responsibility of the role is to provide cost estimates for mining and civil engineering projects. Our clients are from both the public and private sector, delivering a wide range of projects.

Our Cost Management business provides proactive cost consulting services. We have a growing civil and infrastructure cost estimating capability that both supports AECOM’s internal groups and also provides Clients with the all-important answer to their question “How much will my project cost?

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to;

  • Provision of cost estimates for mining and civil engineering projects.
  • Preparation of quantities from a range of drawings with varying levels of detail
  • Cost advice at all stages of the design process
  • Post-Contract cost management services, where required
  • Recognising that safety is a priority and the need to operate with high standards of integrity
  • Preparation and evaluation of Risk Registers
  • Continue to innovate and broaden our approach to the delivery of cost advice and cost estimates.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a mining civil cost estimator / quantity surveyor/cost manager preferably in NSW
  • Relevant tertiary qualification; along with Professional accreditation such as membership of the AIQS, RICS or equivalent (Preferable but not essential)
  • The ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for quality of deliverables and meeting deadlines
  • Strong knowledge and experience of mining and civil engineering construction techniques
  • Strong knowledge of Cost Estimating and Quantity Surveying software such as: Cost X, Expert Estimation, @Risk, P6 etc.
