The Role

AECOM’s building and places team is looking for an experienced architect who will provide technical expertise on specific and allocated projects and undertake direct and regular client project manager contact, effectively liaising with stakeholders through all front end project phases ensuring design briefing and project expectations are achieved through to managing the delivery of major projects. Financial management in consultation with the designated Project Director (or senior project manager), and the coordination of project resources (both internal and external) may also be required.

The architect will be working across Business Lines within AECOM and ideally would have mixed use Development and infrastructure architectural experience. The architect would also need to have mechanical and electrical service coordination experience.

About You

  • 7 + years relevant experience;
  • Demonstrated experience working within the consulting environment;
  • Previous experience working in a design office
  • Registered architect in QLD (desirable)
  • Strong portfolio of realised work which demonstrates creativity, innovation and excellent technical capabilities.
  • Knowledge of contemporary design trends, techniques, materials and digital practice.
  • Expertise in Adobe CS2 and MS Office, with a high level of skill in REVIT or similar package.
  • Demonstrates initiative in developing solutions to projects and a high level of customer service delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate project teams and liaise effectively with staff and at all levels
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn and contribute to own continuing professional development
  • Good knowledge of local/regional market with established networks and contacts preferable

Recognised qualification (Associate Degree, Bachelor of Architecture, or equivalent) or industry experience
