A&O recognised as a Stonewall Top Global Employer for second year running
Stonewall has announced its Top Global Employers 2019, the definitive list showcasing the best multinational employers for lesbian, gay, bi and trans staff with Allen & Overy among the 14 organisations recognised in the list this year.
The list is compiled from submissions to the Global Workplace Equality Index, a powerful benchmarking tool used by employers to create inclusive workplaces across the market in which they operate. Submissions require organisations to demonstrate their performance against a set of best practice criteria accompanied by supporting evidence. The criteria are split across nine different areas of employment policy and practice, examining both global working structures and operational country activity.
Commenting on this news, A&O senior partner Wim Dejonghe said: “We are thrilled that our global focus on LGBT+ inclusion has been recognised by Stonewall once again. We are committed to making progress in this important area and we all take responsibility for ensuring our LGBT+ colleagues and clients feel welcome, valued and included.”
Ruth hunt, chief executive of Stonewall commented: "A&O have demonstrated a real commitment to ensuring that all their lesbian, gay, bi and trans staff and stakeholders feel included at work and we're delighted to name them as one of our Top Global Employers for 2019. All 14 of these businesses are truly at the forefront of driving global LGBT inclusion in the workplace, which is such a crucial step in getting us close to LGBT equality."
