What is this opportunity?
We know that it can be daunting to return to work. So much may have changed and you might be wondering about the relevance of your skills. You may also need flexibility and be concerned about how your needs can be accommodated. This is where the ANZ Return to Work program can help.
As part of the application process we will get to know a little bit more about your past work experience, as well as the details of what flexibility you'd like. We want to know how we can make this work for you, and will ask how many and what days you'd like to work, whether you would like flexible start and finish times, work from home options and much more.
The program is designed to help you transition back into the workforce, with learning, support and flexible work options. We are offering an 'ease in' option that includes a fixed term contract for 20 weeks with the possibility to extend or apply for a permanent role. For those that want to apply for a permanent role straight away, you can do that too.
Our Return to Work program gives you the opportunity to refresh your skills through training, in a supportive environment with leaders, mentors and colleagues, while being competitively remunerated for the value you bring.
What types of roles are available?
People working in ANZ's technology division are innovators, engineers, strategists, futurists, business leaders, architects, security specialists and much more. So, while some roles require technical skills such as engineering, infrastructure or data, we also seek people with skills and experience in project management, operations, strategy or business analytics.
Ultimately if you adapt to emerging opportunities, enjoy delivering exceptional experiences, and are interested in new technology trends, you could be the perfect fit.

Where are the roles based?
At this stage our program is for roles in our Technology division and are based at ANZ's HQ in Melbourne (Docklands).
What are the key dates?
- 8 March – 29 March: Application period
- 19 March: Marketplace
- 20 March: Live webcast
- April – June: Interview and selection period
- July: Program commencement
What experience do I need?
Ideally, you would have at least four years of experience in a professional services industry (or related). An interest or passion for technology and financial services is a bonus. We have a number of roles for you to choose from - each requiring different levels of skills and experience.

Tell me more about Technology at ANZ
Technology, along with people, underpins everything at ANZ. From our 'always on' core banking systems, to the various customer touch points and the myriad of tools our colleagues rely on every day to do their work. We are leading the way among large corporates looking to adopt agile@scale. It's an exciting time to be part of Technology. The roles available are part of the following areas or, as we call them, domains.
The domains in this group deliver end-to-end, world-class products and services to our retail, corporate and commercial, and global institutional customers across Australia, New Zealand and in our other markets.
The domains in this area provide support across a range of areas, each key to the bank's success: Banking Services (such as Payments), Business Automation and Integration (think AI), Data and Analytics, Omni Channel (to drive a great and consistent customer experience) and Security (to protect our customers, employees and shareholders).
The domains in this group are responsible for the employee experience, infrastructure as a service, technology operations, business management and architecture.
This domain is driving the changes needed to deliver on the bank's Technology strategy which involves the changes to our 'New Ways of Working' as well as our shift to Information Technology as a Service and the dramatic simplification of our architecture.
