An exciting opportunity for a HSEQ Manager to join our fun, collaborative, and hardworking City of Sydney contract team based around Sydney CBD!  
   
About the role  
This role is part of the Senior Leadership Team and a key leader in promoting a positive and generative approach to the health and safety, environment and quality functions across the organisation.  

  • Managing the implementation of Safety Management Plans across the project. 

  • Ensuring compliance with legislations, regulations and standards and that all project activities are undertaken safely, with suitable frameworks and documentation.  

  • Lead investigations of safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team.  

  • Implementing processes to ensure communication and compliance with all SHEQ policies. 

  • Oversee employee rehabilitation, including Return to Work planning. 

  • Ensuring risk assessments and risk registers are developed and maintained.  

  • Ensuring that the Ventia “Critical Risk Protocols” are embedded in the project through Leaders. 

  • Promoting a safe workplace with zero impact on the environment. 

  • Utilise data to enable informed decisions to be made in relation to asset disposal, renewal and planned maintenance programs. 

  • Develop and deliver safety related training when required including new starter induction, toolbox talks and prestart meetings. 

  
About you  

  • Cert IV Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Environmental or Quality Equivalent. 

  • Training and relevant experience in incident investigation. 

  • Internal Auditor Qualification. 

  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience in safety / environment / quality or relevant industry role. 

  • Experience in managing safety audit programs to ensure effective system compliance. 

  • Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards within a utility or infrastructure project environment 

  • Maintain stakeholder relationships utilising appropriate influence and negotiation
