The Snowy 2.0 project's innovative design involves linking Tantangara and Talbingo dams through tunnels spanning 27 kilometres and constructing an underground power station, to enable efficient water pumping between both dams. Snowy 2.0's closed-loop system optimises renewable resources by reusing water and leveraging excess solar and wind energy, ensuring maximum efficiency in Australia's renewable energy landscape.

The Location

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager of Excellence, you'll lead the governance function, instilling accountability and excellence within the Snowy 2.0 Project. Your pivotal role involves ensuring the seamless operation of critical governance structures, embedding best practices in project governance, and fostering efficient communication among senior management, project departments and external contractors.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving continuous improvement of the project governance model to bolster organisational effectiveness and decision-making.
  • Creating, refining and facilitating key governance forums and committees, fostering effective collaboration across a diverse network of project stakeholders. Additionally, you'll analyse governance process data, pinpointing areas for enhancement, and propose potential options to improve governance practices.
  • Producing monthly reports to the board and stakeholders, presenting project performance, key decisions, and issues for resolution in a high-quality.
  • Compiling a comprehensive set of leading and lagging indicators for the project through dashboards, facilitating assessment of project performance and progress by internal and external stakeholders, including the Snowy Board.
  • Ensuring transparency by establishing KPIs upfront, and proactively recommending and implementing dashboard changes to align with evolving projects.
  • Collaborating with Snowy BAU to ensure data assurance, automating and streamlining data capturing processes, and analysing data to identify improvement areas and elevate.
  • Ensuring the project has sufficient insurance coverage and that logistics and reporting processes align with appropriate insurance models.

You'll Bring To The Team:

You will possess a Bachelor's degree in business, management or a related field. Demonstrating successful experience in leading governance functions within project environments, ideally in Infrastructure mega projects. Equipped with a mindset and adaptability to excel in fast-paced, dynamic environments, your skill set should encompass robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities, as well as excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
